The third of the little company arrested with Pionius and Sabina at Smyrna in 250, confessing in his turn before the tribunal — asked what god he worshipped, he answered, “Christ Jesus.” Distinguished by the duplicate-name rule from Asclepiades the confessor-bishop of Antioch a generation earlier: two men, one name, both holding it under interrogation.
