Who Migginis was
A gravedigger of the church of Cirta, and the only man in the document to carry an indigenous North African name: Migginis is the Latinised form of the Punic Miggin. In a clergy list otherwise full of Roman names he is the plainest evidence that the Numidian church reached below the colonial class.
Named once, in the Gesta apud Zenophilum — the Cirta records of 19 May 303 and 13 December 320; no other ancient source names him.
