Who Xosroviduxt was
Sister of King Trdat, and the person through whom the conversion of Armenia is narrated as beginning. After the killing of the virgins the king was struck with a madness Agathangelos describes as a boar’s affliction; Xosroviduxt reported a vision three times over, insisting that only Gregory — whom the court believed dead in the pit at Artaxata after thirteen years — could heal him. She was disbelieved twice. Her persistence is what brings Gregory out of the pit.
