Modalism (Sabellianism)

The teaching that Father, Son, and Spirit are three modes of one divine person — so that, pressed to its end, the Father suffered on the cross. Taught at Rome by Noetus’s circle, Praxeas, and Sabellius; answered by Tertullian and Hippolytus.
