Who Chrysapius of Annisa was
The single companion who shared Naucratius’s hermitage by the Iris — a household servant, by the family tradition, who followed the young nobleman into retirement and served with him the company of poor old men they supported by hunting and fishing. He perished with Naucratius in the same sudden accident, master and servant undivided in life, labour, and death. One clause in the Life of Macrina preserves him; the granularity rule gives him his card.
