Who Revocatus was
A slave and catechumen arrested at Carthage with his fellow-servant Felicity and the well-born Perpetua under the edict of Septimius Severus. The Passion names him first among the group — “the catechumens Revocatus and Felicitas his fellow-servant, Saturninus and Secundulus” — a household slave who went to the beasts beside a noblewoman, the arena flattening the social order the empire policed. Scourged before a line of gladiators and thrown to a leopard and a bear on the birthday-games of Geta.
