Adelphius
fl. AD 314 (death unrecorded) · British bishop at Arles · Britannia (see disputed: Colchester or Lincoln)
The Nicene Age
Who Adelphius was
The third British bishop at Arles, whose see the manuscripts garble — 'de civitate Colonia Londinensium,' a phrase that cannot be right and has been read as Colchester or Lincoln ever since. He came attended by a priest and a deacon, duly recorded; the copyists preserved his companions perfectly and lost his city.
Also listed in bishops beyond the great sees.
