Who Pardus was
One of the thirty-four bishops who signed the synodal letter the Council of Arles sent to Sylvester of Rome on 1 August 314 — the first council of the whole Western church, called by Constantine to settle the Donatist appeal. The letter names him; it does not give his see, and no other ancient source recovers it. Recorded here as ‘see unassigned in the acta’ rather than guessed at. Distinct from Pardus of Mentesa, who subscribed at Elvira — two different bishops of the same name at two councils within a few years.
